LEVERAGING TECHNOLOGY FOR COMMERCIAL ADVANTAGE | ||
Experience Experience ____________________ |
Engagement Process Managing expectations is the first step in working toward a successful consulting assignment or relationship. Toward this end, you should know that TechRich Consulting is Gordon Richardson. There are no plans to grow this small endeavor into something large. To all prospective clients, I am offering insights and guidance that are based on the experience that is summarized elsewhere in this web site. However this does not mean that the capabilities TechRich Consulting can bring to bear on your problem are limited to what I can offer. Experience has taught me that teams almost always can accomplish more than a single person, working alone. The network I have developed over many years enables the coming together of teams whose diverse capabilities expand and extend what I can offer into different markets, businesses, technologies, and geographies. If capabilities beyond what I have are needed to address the issues you have in mind, I will either build a team that meets your needs or decline the assignment. Most consulting assignments start with a meeting that begins a dialogue that will conclude when we have reached a shared understanding of your problem, the issues that need to be addressed, the resources that will be needed, a schedule and budget, and the deliverables that will document and conclude the assignment. I then will submit a proposal, describing the problem to be addressed and the items listed above. When both parties sign it, the proposal becomes a contract, authorizing TechRich Consulting to begin work on your behalf. Your visibility of the staff actually working on your assignment and our progress will be limited only by your schedule and availability and the budget. Detailed and open communications with our clients and within the team will minimize the possibility of surprises. Our charges are based on the time spent. Under normal circumstances, expenses are billed as incurred, without markup. To encourage prompt payment, we charge interest on past due invoices.
